Born in Villemomble, France, Laurent Boukobza entered the world of music at the age of 10 when he began studying with Catherine Collard at the Paris Conservatory where after graduation he worked as an Assistant Piano Instructor. Their program features "Songs of America" from 1900 to 1930. From grand waltzes to rousing & rallying tunes of WWI, they'll take you on a musical journey that highlights the hit tunes of George M. Cohan, Jerome Kern and George Gershwin. At the same time nostalgic and relevant, their fresh interpretations reveal love and respect for this rich period of American song.

Though his iconic guise of white fedora, jacket and sunglasses has been thoroughly satirized (anybody remember the "Leon Redbone workout" Far Side cartoon?), it's easy to overlook what a genuinely gifted artist he remains – a role he inevitably tries to downplay.
